SAN DIEGO, Calif. – December 12, 2011 – Power Analytics Corporation, the industry leader in advanced electrical power software solutions, recently unveiled its new DesignView user interface software in a presentation to applications developers and implementers at the Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) Conference in Cambridge, Mass. DesignView provides advanced visualization capabilities for Power Analytics’ power systems analysis platforms: Paladin Live™ and Paladin SmartGrid™. Now engineers who want to run analyses or monitor a mission-critical facility while they are mobile can do that.
The fifth revision of the HTML standard, created in 1990, HTML5 markup language is still in development stage. It’s predicted to improve on previous versions and support multimedia while being easy to read by humans, but understood by computers, devices and web browsers. A blend of HTML and XHTML, HTML5 helps define a single markup language, encourage interoperable implementations, and introduces application programming interfaces for complex Web apps. In particular, it integrates SVG content that replaces generic tags and handles multimedia and graphical content on the web without having to resort to proprietary plugins and APIs.
“DesignView has great potential for cross-platform mobile applications,” says Pearce. “Many HTML5 features were designed with consideration for running on smartphones and tablets. That is very appealing to us.”
The unique challenges of real-time power analysis combined with real-time data require a very high performance, secure and flexible visualization environment well suited for SVG. DesignView solves the inefficiency of building power analytics visualization and analysis user interfaces within standard power systems monitoring packages by creating a single, web-based system that integrates into monitoring packages from multiple vendors while preserving engineering workflow.
“The variation in user groups exposed to our analytics impacts the implementation and how DesignView is integrated into a larger data acquisition and historical logging systems,” says Pearce. “The bottom line is, we’re taking advantage of this new technology and everyone else isn’t.”
