SAN DIEGO – Power Analytics Corporation announced the public release of DesignBase Xi™, the industry’s first cloud-based power engineering design package. It was revealed to users at the 20/20 Vision-Driven Power Conference in San Diego. Subscriptions start at $249 per month.

DesignBase Xi offers customers all the features of industry-leading Paladin DesignBase which is used to design complex structures with uncompromising electrical power requirements, such as critical facilities, manufacturing plants, aircraft carriers, and airports.

The new offering is served on a high-security cloud based platform. “DesignBase Xi runs in the Power Analytics private cloud that operates in an SSAE 16 certified secure datacenter. All user access is logged and audited, and all power models are encrypted and redundantly stored,” said Taylor Brockman, chief technology officer of Power Analytics.

The launch reflects the industry’s evolution of the power grid to a transactional network of grid elements. “DesignBase Xi offers customers instant access to an extensive library of thousands of grid elements, which will grow exponentially over the next few months,” said Kevin Meagher, chief operating officer of Power Analytics.
