The Power Analytics Quality System is in place to comply with nuclear safety related requirements per 10CFR50 – Appendix B and ISO-9001. Power Analytics is qualifying DesignBase Software for Nuclear 1E safety related systems. Class 1 E is the designation for nuclear safety-related electrical equipment.
Power Analytics conducts NUPIC audits on an annual basis and has done so for 27 years, retaining compliance with NUPIC standards.
The first part, the General Quality Assurance Program, complies with IEC International QA-Standard ISO 9001, 10CFR50 Appendix B; 10CFR21 and NQA-1 (1989); and the second part, Software Development, addresses the criteria of NQA-2 Part 2.7. In addition to the above, both parts are based on ANSI/IEEE Software Engineering Standard 610.12-1990 and NATO AQAP-13.
Power Analytics will be a leading supplier of software to the nuclear utility industry, and the energy/utility industry in North America. A process approach shall be used to ensure ongoing control between individual processes within the system of processes, as well as over their combination and interaction.
When used within a quality management system, such an approach emphasizes the importance of understanding and meeting requirements; the need to consider processes in terms of added value; obtaining results of process performance and effectiveness; and continual improvement of processes based on objective measurement.
Quality Objectives are identified as:
- Create software that is user friendly, and is recognized as NUPIC, NRC, ISO 9001:2015, and ANSI certified
- Create unique, patented, real time power modeling technology products
- QMS provides a well-definedprocess approach for continuous improvement
