SAN DIEGO, Calif. – August 12, 2011 – Power Analytics Corporation, the industry leader in advanced electrical power software solutions, today named Raj Chudgar as Vice President of Smart Grid Business Development. He reports to Chairman and CEO Mark A. Ascolese, and joins the Company from SunGard Consulting Services, where he was a principal specializing in Smart Grid solutions.

Chudgar brings extensive experience to Power Analytics in the wholesale (operations and markets), TDSP (Transmission and Distribution Providers) and retail energy space, and has lead numerous client projects covering all aspects of system and lifecycle development, ISO development and wholesale energy business solutions. He has spent more than 15 years in the electricity market and utility business with a focus on software development, renewables generation, market strategy, and Smart Grid solutions.

He started his career as a research engineer at ExxonMobil, was both a director of market redesign and a program director at the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT), served as manager and then as principal at global engineering consulting firm, Black & Veatch; and was a manager at energy consulting firms Fortegra and The Structure Group. He holds six U.S. and two international patents.

Chudgar has a Bachelor and Masters of Engineering degrees in Chemical Engineering from the J.B. Speed School of Engineering at the University of Louisville (Kentucky). He has published a number of technical articles, white papers and presentations on implementation best practices in energy procurement, and has been a distinguished speaker on solutions and market trends at several engineering conferences.

““Power Analytics is focused on solving the challenge of providing the high-quality, reliable, low-cost energy mission critical facilities and micro grids require in the Digital Age,” said Mr. Ascolese. “We are extremely fortunate to have Raj on our team and we have high expectations that he will build on the success we already have in the Smart Grid space.”

Power Analytics’ Paladin® SmartGrid™ is the first commercially-available software platform designed specifically for on-line management and control of “hybrid” power infrastructures integrating traditional utility power with on-site power generation. The platform optimizes energy consumption in multi-energy-source sites, whether they are focused on minimizing annual costs, carbon footprint, peak load or public consumption.

As more organizations move to supplement their utility power with on-premise power generation (including solar power, wind turbines, and battery storage), Paladin SmartGrid serves as a “master controller” for intelligent grid design, monitoring real-time power quality, utilization and capacity; monitoring transactions between public electric service and micro grid infrastructure; and maintaining rates and pricing information for managing private-public exchange.
