POWER ANALYTICS™ COMPLETES SUCCESSFUL NUPIC AUDIT Company retains compliance for 26th consecutive year

San Diego, CA. – March 21, 2012 – Power Analytics Corporation announced today the company continues to be on the Approved Supplier List for use in Nuclear 1E safety related systems for nuclear facilities following the recent successful audit by the Nuclear Procurement Issues Committee (NUPIC).

With its proven process for evaluating suppliers to high standards of quality, NUPIC is the National Regulatory Commission’s (NRC) preferred and cost-effective method of maintaining their Approved Suppliers List. NUPIC members include all domestic U.S. nuclear utilities and several international members. Power Analytics™ has earned its place on the NUPIC Approved Supplier List continuously since 2001. The company has been on the individual nuclear use approval list since 1986.

Power Analytics also recently released its DesignBase™ 4.0 Service Pack 1 for Nuclear 1E safety users. The software release was included as part of the most recent successful NUPIC audit.

“We are proud of our record of all audits resulting in continuous compliance and the recent NUPIC audit is another reason Power Analytics remains the premium electrical software of choice for both the nuclear and commercial power markets,” said John Jennings, Quality Manager for Power Analytics. “We believe a systems approach to a quality management system is the best approach to ensure quality software is provided. All applicable standards should be adhered to during design, development, validation and verification of electrical design software.”

“Our Paladin® DesignBase™ software product gives clients a one percent action threshold for notification when a new software version’s verification and validation (V&V) test results are found to deviate from the currently deployed software version,” said Brian Radibratovic, Director of Power Engineering for Power Analytics. “The test results of the ‘critical core’ of the Paladin® DesignBase™ software modules will provide statistically significant evidence regarding the accuracy of the computational results.”

Power Analytics is the only software firm whose products have been proven to meet the uncompromising quality standards from the Nuclear Procurement Issues Committee (NUPIC), the International Standards Organization (ISO), the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), the Department of Defense (DoD), NATO, Det Norske Veritas (DNV), the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) and others.

Power Analytics was also recently named one of the top 12 companies to watch in 2012 by Smart Grid News.
